2019 APRIL 16 CC/CUA/CPFA/CHA MEETING 1 - CITY COUNCIL/COLTON UTILITY AUTHORITY/ COLTON PUBLIC FINANCING AUTHORITY AND COLTON HOUSING AUTHORITY CLOSED SESSION MINUTES April 16, 2019 Closed Session Meeting was held on the above given date at 5:00 p.m., in the Council Chamber of City Hall, with Mayor Navarro presiding. CITY COUNCIL ROLL CALL Councilmembers present were, Toro, Cisneros, Koperski, González, Woods, Suchil; and Mayor Navarro. STAFF PRESENT City Manager Smith, City Attorney Campos, and City Clerk Padilla. PUBLIC COMMENT None CLOSED SESSION City Attorney Campos announced the City Council would meet in Closed Session to Discuss Item A/B/C. A. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - EXISTING LITIGATION Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(1) Chad Griffiths v. City of Colton Workers Compensation Case No. ADJ9960732--DOI 1/13/2015 CT B. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - EXISTING LITIGATION Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(1) Richard Housley v. City of Colton Workers Compensation Case No. ADJ10817759--DOI 10/11/89-7/22/16 CT C. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - ANTICIPATED LITIGATION Significant Exposure to Litigation, Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(2)/(e)(1) One (1) Potential Cases Mayor Navarro adjourned the meeting to Closed Session at 5:01 p.m. and at 6:01 p.m., the meeting reconvened, with all members present heretofore. City Attorney Campos announced that the City Council did meet in Closed Session and discussed Items A/B/C; with direction to staff and no reportable action. Reportable Action Update: City Attorney Campos informed Council of report from a previous closed session that has now become final and thus reportable. On February 19, 2019, on a unanimous vote, the Colton City Council approved in closed session a workers compensation settlement with Richard Elias, Case NO. ADJ 10255140, in the amount of $250,000. The settlement has now become final and this is why we are reporting this out today.
