2019 MAY 07 CC/CUA/CPFA/CHA MEETING 3 - <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS <br /> <br />POSSIBLE CONFLICT OF INTEREST DISCLOSURES FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF MAY 7, 2019. <br /> <br />GIFT DISCLOSURES <br />Mayor Navarro asked the members present if there were any agenda items that were a conflict of interest <br />pursuant to CMC Section 2.04.030. None disclosed. <br /> <br />AB 1234 ORAL REPORTS <br />Mayor Navarro asked the members present if there were any brief reports on meetings attended at the expense <br />of the City. (GC Section 53232.3(d). None disclosed. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS <br /> <br />• Appointment – Planning Commission – Gem M. Montes to District 5 <br />CM Woods presented for appointment to the Planning Commission for District 5, Gem M. Montes. <br /> <br />Extensive discussion related to the notice to fill the vacancy resulted in a consensus by the Councilmembers <br />present to table the item and re-notice the vacancy for 30 days beginning June 4, 2019; after the expiration of <br />the set time period an appointment by CM Woods will be presented for consideration and ratification. <br /> <br />*************************************************************************** <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />None <br /> <br />*************************************************************************** <br /> <br />BUSINESS ITEMS <br /> <br />(1) Ordinance - Cal Fire Hazard Maps - Waive Full Reading, Read by Title Only and Pass First Reading of <br />An Ordinance of The City of Colton, California, Adding Chapter 6.48 to The Colton Municipal Code <br />Adopting The Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones As Recommended by Calfire and Delegating <br />Authority to the Fire Chief to Designate Future Very High Hazard Severity Zones, ORDINANCE NO. <br />O-08-19. <br /> <br />Staff Presentation <br />Fire Chief Tim McHarque presented for Council consideration a PowerPoint presentation and overview of the <br />agenda item and requested approval of staff’s recommendation. <br /> <br />Motion and Second by CM González/CM Suchil to waive further reading, read by title only and introduce <br />Ordinance No. O-08-19. <br />Vote: Unanimous <br /> <br />*************************************************************************** <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />General Public Comment <br />The following community members addressed the Council: Michael Anderson; Irma Flores; Erlinda <br />Armendariz; and Gem Montes.
