2019 AUGUST 20 CC/CUA/CPFA/CHA MEETING 3 - <br />CM Suchil presented a Certificate of Recognition to ‘Rewritten’; accepted by Co-Founder, Frank Perez; <br />‘Rewritten’ is a non-profit organization who support the youth of the City of Colton; in addition was selected as <br />the Non-Profit of the Year California’s 47th District. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS <br /> <br />POSSIBLE CONFLICT OF INTEREST DISCLOSURES FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF AUGUST 20, <br />2019. <br /> <br />GIFT DISCLOSURES <br />Mayor Navarro asked the members present if there were any agenda items that were a conflict of interest <br />pursuant to CMC Section 2.04.030. None disclosed. <br /> <br />AB 1234 ORAL REPORTS <br />Mayor Navarro asked the members present if there were any brief reports on meetings attended at the expense <br />of the City. (GC Section 53232.3(d). None disclosed. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS <br /> <br />• Appointment – Recreation & Parks Commission – Ronnie Calderon to District 3 <br />CM Koperski presented the name of Ronnie Calderon as a District 3 appointment on the Recreation and Parks <br />Commission; appointment made with full consensus and support of Councilmembers present; no objection; so <br />ratified. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br />• Discussion and Possible Direction to Staff Regarding the Formation of a Reche Canyon Subcommittee. <br /> <br />Staff Presentation <br />City Manager Smith gave Council a brief overview of the intent of a possible Reche Canyon Subcommittee; as <br />outlined in the Manual of Procedure, Section D-2 (E) authorizes the City Council to appoint an Ad-Hoc <br />Committee of Councilmembers, City Staff and private citizens; City Attorney has advised based on Council’s <br />suggestion such a committee would be considered an Ad-Hoc Committee of the City Council and subject to <br />Brown Act regulations; regarding the Councilmembers appointed: should there be other individuals in these <br />positions in the future, the new members would automatically assume these places on the Committee. <br /> <br />Council Discussion/Direction to Staff <br />After discussion and discernment by Councilmembers present, Mayor Navarro presented the final make-up of <br />the Ad-Hoc Committee with full consensus of Council: <br />Two (2) Councilmembers: Mayor Navarro and District 5 Councilmember Woods; <br />Two (2) Planning Commissioners: Chairperson Prieto and District 5 Commissioner Montes; and <br />Three (3) Reche Canyon residents (not necessarily City of Colton residents). <br /> <br />City Manager Smith will begin an informational outreach to the community for those interested in serving on <br />the committee; members of the public will need to submit a Letter of Interest to the City Clerk’s Office; <br />deadline for submission the end of August; review will be completed by Mayor Navarro and Councilmember <br />Woods. <br /> <br />*************************************************************************** <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />
