(1) Approve and Adopt a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Colton, in Recognition and Support <br />of the Veterans Wall of Freedom as a Perpetual Reminder of the Sacrifices made by Veterans in <br />Services of their Country, RESOLUTION NO. R-39-15. <br />Mayor DeLaRosa introduced selected dignitaries in attendance from the City of Grand Terrace: Mayor Darcy <br />McNaboe and Mayor's husband Jim McNaboe (Board Member, veterans Walt of Freedom organization); Former <br />Councilmember Don Larkin; (City of Cotton) Commissioner Randy Rivera — Civil Service Commission/District 2, <br />and (City of Colton) Commissioner Jules Carvalho — Code Compliance Commission/District 2. <br />Mr. Don Larkin, Board Member, Veterans Wall of Freedom Organization presented to Council the intent and <br />reason for the Veterans Wall of Freedom. Mr. Larkin gave an example of the type of Veterans whose name will <br />be recognized; local hero Sergeant Clayton Dunn who on May 26, 2007 while on patrol with his Unit (82nd Air <br />Bourne/Army) in Iraq was hit by an IED and he died of his wounds. The Monument will be erected in the City of <br />Grand Terrace at Pico Park by the Grand Terrace High School. An Artist rendition was handed out to each <br />person on the dais. <br />Motion and Second by CM Bennett/CM Gonzalez to approve and adopt Resolution No. R-39-15. <br />Vote: All answered `Aye'. Unanimous. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION <br />• Discussion of Council Travel and Meetings <br />MPT Navarro introduced this item for consideration by Councilmembers present and suggested this item be <br />referred to the Finance Committee and returns to Council for any necessary modifications; asked for support of <br />the Councilmembers. <br />Discussion by Council and with full consensus directed City Manager Smith to set up a workshop session for <br />the discussion of Council Travel and Meetings; suggested this workshop be date set after the Budget (Fr 2015- <br />20m) is approved. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ACTION ITEMS <br />(1) Approve and Adopt a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Colton, in Recognition and Support <br />of the Veterans Wall of Freedom as a Perpetual Reminder of the Sacrifices made by Veterans in <br />Services of their Country, RESOLUTION NO.
