Explanation of how we are able to use grant monies. <br />What is needed to include changes (boundary related). <br />Need a Phase 2 that will include South Colton (South La Cadena Corridor). <br />Commended on the outstanding quality of the presentation and detailed outline. <br />Seek other monies which are available: grant funds; public and private partnerships and what <br />agencies the City would need to work with. <br />Are Grant Monies issued on a competitive basis? <br />The boundaries should extend through to the Wilson School area. <br />Support was stated as to the need to go forward as it will help all of the City of Colton. <br />Requested to create a shelf ready project as monies become open and available. <br />Project is strictly in the planning phase. <br />Would like to see a measurable goal. <br />There is a need to bring things back from the past that will attract Colton, i.e. Miller Honey <br />Caboose; feature our Historic Homes; Train Town, USA, and use of city entrances to attract <br />attention to places of interest such as these. <br />Discussion as to adopting a City Logo that references "Hub City" which was originally <br />referenced in the early days of incorporation. <br />Conditional support clearly stated with the assurance in the immediate future (next phase) will <br />include South Colton (La Cadena Corridor). <br />Outlined how we are going to achieve goals to make this project successful. <br />Incentives components should be a top priority <br />Agreed that revitalizations and business incentives are important. <br />Direction indicated to City Manager Smith and Staff that Council and Commission is going with <br />the boundaries outlined tonight and the next grant will include the South Colton area.
