Council Members/Staff Absent <br />Aurelio De La Torre, City Treasurer (arrived at 6:30 p.m.) <br />CEREMONIAL MATTERS Presentations, Awards, Proclamations <br />• Proclamation —1250i Birthday Celebration for Centerpoint Church <br />Council Member Toro read the Proclamation in honor of the 1250i Birthday Celebration for <br />Centerpoint Church and presented it to Pastor Dane Aaker, congratulating him on 125 years of <br />providing worship services in Colton. In honor of this celebration, there was a video presentation <br />showing the history of Centerpoint Church in Colton. <br />• Proclamation—American Cancer Society <br />Council Member Bennett read the Proclamation in honor of the month of May being recognized <br />as National Cancer Awareness Month. Paula Flores, a long-time volunteer for the American <br />Cancer Society, received the Proclamation and invited the public to attend the Relay for Life <br />event to be held on Saturday, May 18 and 19, 2012, at Colton High School. She also passed <br />purple ribbons out at the dais in honor of cancer awareness and stated that other volunteers were <br />in the process of "painting the town purple" by tying purple ribbons on trees and poles around <br />Colton. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS <br />POSSIBLE CONFLICT OF INTEREST DISLOSURES FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF <br />MAY 1, 2012. <br />Mayor Sarah S. Zamora asked the members present if there were any agenda items that were a <br />conflict of interest pursuant to CMC Section 2.04.030.
