Discussion followed on the following topics prior to review of depart- <br />mental budgets: <br />1. Budgeting for Design of proposed Fire Station to be located on <br />donated parcel of land on Meadow Lane. <br />2. Reduction in Utility Fees by elimination of meter reading charges. <br />3. Expanding City Refuse Pickup to more commercial/industrial/apartments. <br />City Manager Benest stated he would present an introduction to each <br />department through a narrative which will outline the activities <br />of the divisions' and the departments' goals for the new year Mr. <br />Benest stated following review of each budget, preliminary approval <br />is requested. Upon completion of review of departmental budgets, <br />staff will bring back all of the budget for final adjustment and <br />adoption. <br />Citv Council <br />City Manager Benest reviewed the City Council Budget reporting it <br />remains substantially the same. <br />Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to tentatively <br />approve the City Council Budget. Unanimous vote. <br />City Clerk <br />City Manager Benest reported there is one new position in this budget, <br />that of Intermediate Typist Clerk/Word Processor. Mr. Benest stated <br />this person will act as the backup person for the receptionist to be <br />located in the lobby. She will help with lunch hours, breaks, vacations. <br />Moved by Member Rehrer, seconded by Member Garcia, to tentatively approve <br />the City Clerk Budget. Unanimous vote. <br />City Manager <br />Mr. Benest reported this budget reflects the shift of the Assistant <br />City Manager's position. Mr. Benest stated the Assistant City Manager <br />position is now shown in the Administrative Services Budget. <br />Moved by Council Member Rios, seconded by Council Member Rehrer, to <br />tentatively approve the City Manager Budget. Unanimous vote. <br />Community Promotion <br />City Manager Benest reported this budget remains status quo. <br />Moved by Member Garcia, seconded by Member Rehrer, to tentatively <br />approve the Community Promotion budget.
