Unanimous vote. <br />ORDINANCE NO <br />(Second Read <br />RESOLUTION NO <br />0-12-87 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING <br />ng) ORDINANCE NO. 1602, AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING <br />FOR CERTAIN ZONE RECLASSIFICATIONS. <br />-91-87 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON AMENDING THE GENERAL PLAN AS ADOPTED <br />BY RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF COLTON. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Mrs. Rosalie Rangel, 1457 Bothwell Avenue, requested the City's assis- <br />tance in controlling young people from using an easement along the <br />Flood Control Channel for a hangout and a place to cross back and forth. <br />Mrs. Rangel stated the residents in the 1400 block of Bothwell are very <br />disturbed about this, as it has been going on for quite some time. <br />Public Works Director Hutton stated this easement belongs to the San <br />Bernardino County Flood Control District, and Staff has attempted to <br />contact the District, asking them to put up a higher fence or some <br />other remedy to eliminate the use of this right-of-way. <br />— After additional discussion, Mr. Benest stated the City will follow up <br />on this matter with the County Flood Control District and try to re- <br />solve the problems. <br />Teen Challenge Walk-A-Thon/Banners <br />Mr. Benest advised that after discussions among Mr. Morgan and the <br />Directors of Public Works, Electric Utility, and Human Services De- <br />partment, it has been determined that an existing banner, used at <br />Fleming Park, can be utilized by the Teen Challenge group, which will <br />be coordinated by the Human Services Director, Richard Holmer. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Garcia, seconded by Councilman Rios, approving and <br />authorizing request of Teen Challenge of Southern California for a Walk- <br />A-Thon through Colton on August 10, 1987, and permission to utilize a <br />banner as outlined by Staff. Unanimous vote. <br />City Manager <br />Councilman Rios stated he would like to take this opportunity to con- <br />gratulate our City Manager, Frank Benest, on his first anniversary with <br />the City of Colton. Mr. Rios felt that Mr. Benest has been doing an <br />excellent job, and that the City is growing and progressing rapidly. <br />
