CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
For the City Council Meeting of July 18, 2000
TO: Honorable Mayor Pro Tempore and City Council
APPROVAL: Henry T. Garcia, City Manager
%
FROM: Thomas K. Clarke, Utility Directof"
SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF GRANT OF EASTMENT TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON
DATE: July 10, 2000
BACKGROUND
Southern California Edison Company, a corporation, requests that the City of Colton grant it an
easement of certain real property that it owns for conveyance of electric energy.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS
The construction of Tract 16019 which consists of 52 homes on the southwest corner of Citrus
and Pennsylvania Streets requires relocation of certain Southern California Edison (SCE)
facilities. The most reasonable relocation involves a City -owned parcel associated with the Tract.
A Grant of Easement by the City to SCE is in the City's and tract developer's best interests.
ALTERNATIVES
None. This action serves to continue the on-going positive relationship we maintain with
Southern California Edison Company.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
None.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
None.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the attached Grant of Easement to Southern
California Edison and that it be recorded accordingly.
Page 1 of 1 (w/attachment) Item #15
