'~ The City Council adjourned to closed session at 3:10 P. M., to discuss <br />a personnel matter pursuant to Government Code Section 54957 regarding <br />Public Employee Discipline/Dismissal/Release, more particularly the <br />position of the City Manager. <br />At 3:37 P. M., the City Council returns to the dais with all Members <br />present as heretofore. City Attorney Biggs announced that no action was <br />taken in closed session. <br />Motion by Councilmember Beltran, seconded by Councilmember Rios, to <br />adopt and approve the Resolution of Intention to Terminate the City <br />Manager and to set public hearing at 4:00 P. M. on May 12, 1994. <br />Councilmember Sandoval voiced strong opposition to the proposed action. <br />Councilmember Rios inquired if any public comments can be made regarding <br />closed session discussion. <br />City Attorney Biggs advised that all comments in closed session are <br />confidential and to be kept secret; however, she stated that there is no <br />legal penalty for disclosure. <br />Mayor Gonzales stated he reserved the right to respond to inquiry and <br />indicated he would prepare a press release. <br />The above motion to adopt Resolution No. R-54-94 passed with <br />Councilmembers Sandoval and Cook and Mayor Gonzales voting, "No." <br />RESOLUTION NO. R-54-94 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.16.020 OF THE <br />COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE - RESOLUTION OF <br />INTENTION TO TERMINATE THE CITY MANAGER. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: <br />No response made to the call by Mayor Gonzales. <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />With Council approval, Mayor Gonzales declared the meeting adjourned to <br />May 3, 1994 at 5:00 P.
