'~ The City Council adjourned to closed session at 3:10 P. M., to discuss a personnel matter pursuant to Government Code Section 54957 regarding Public Employee Discipline/Dismissal/Release, more particularly the position of the City Manager. At 3:37 P. M., the City Council returns to the dais with all Members present as heretofore. City Attorney Biggs announced that no action was taken in closed session. Motion by Councilmember Beltran, seconded by Councilmember Rios, to adopt and approve the Resolution of Intention to Terminate the City Manager and to set public hearing at 4:00 P. M. on May 12, 1994. Councilmember Sandoval voiced strong opposition to the proposed action. Councilmember Rios inquired if any public comments can be made regarding closed session discussion. City Attorney Biggs advised that all comments in closed session are confidential and to be kept secret; however, she stated that there is no legal penalty for disclosure. Mayor Gonzales stated he reserved the right to respond to inquiry and indicated he would prepare a press release. The above motion to adopt Resolution No. R-54-94 passed with Councilmembers Sandoval and Cook and Mayor Gonzales voting, "No." RESOLUTION NO. R-54-94 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.16.020 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE - RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO TERMINATE THE CITY MANAGER. PUBLIC COMMENT: No response made to the call by Mayor Gonzales. ADJOURNMENT: With Council approval, Mayor Gonzales declared the meeting adjourned to May 3, 1994 at 5:00 P.
