ADJOURNED CITY COUNCIL MEETING JOINT MEETING WITH PLANNING COMMISSION MAY 3, 1994 In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton, joined by the Planning Commission, was held on the above given date at 5:10 P. M., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gonzales presiding. CITY COUNCIL ROLL CALL: Councilmembers present were Bennett, Sandoval, Cisneros (joined dais at 5:12 P. M.), Rios, Cook, Beltran and Mayor Gonzales. Also present were City Attorney Biggs, Interim City Manager Gale Drews, and City Clerk Ramos. PLANNING COMMISSIONERS ROLL CALL: Commissioners present were Sanders, Carvalho, Jordan and Robles. Also present were Community Development Director Zamora. Absent were Planning Commissioners Hernandez (illness) and DeLaTorre (work schedule.) AGENDA REVIEW: Mayor Gonzales indicated that the study session was set to discuss and establish joint goals and objectives; therefore, he suggested that another date be selected and the meeting fixed at 6:30 P. M. to allow all of the Members/Commissioners to be present. Further, he suggested that today's study session regarding the Brown Act be continued with the presentation by Attorney Tim Sabo. Roll call of both City Council and Planning Commission was conducted with no objections indicated. MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL ITEMS: Brown Act Attorney Sabo distributed a booklet regarding the Brown Act and reviewed the sections pertaining to the following subjects: Legislative Body, Section 54952; Meeting, Section 54952.2; Agenda, Section 54954.2; and, Closed Session, Section 54954.5. A question and answer period followed. Joint Meeting Planning Commissioner Sanders asked if budget would be considered at the next session. The request was directed to the Planning Commission Facilitator. Councilmember Beltran stated the budget process will begin shortly and he would like to see a line item review. MAY o 3 1994
