appear to be the fire departments. Director Clarke alerted that
the power transformer bids are for the substation and they need
from 18-24 months lead time. The poles and conductor insulators
are for the route to get to the RIX facility. The Electric Utility
has given a definite "will serve" letter by April 1. There was a
request to be in by March 1 and Electric Utility has indicated that
the best effort would be by mid-March. This delay would move the
time frame to April. He explained that when they are ready to go
they need full power -testing for their equipment. They will get
the full power from us or temporary service from Edison which would
probably cost $50-60 thousand to obtain full -power testing at the
facility. He also cautioned about the life of the bids and the
delay brought on by re -bidding. Director Clarke said he would
investigate this problem immediately. With consensus of Council,
Mayor Gonzales declared that any action would be held for Director
Clarke's report.
Agenda Item No. 8
In answer to Councilmember Bennett's question, Assistant to the
City Manager Parrish informed that this request is not for soil
testing but for a separate type of testing. Motion by
Councilmember Beltran, seconded by Councilmember Rios, to table
Agenda Item No. 8 to the next meeting. Unanimous vote.
Agenda Item No. 15
Councilmember Bennett said she found different totals for the note
listed in the agenda and the agenda report and asked which was
correct and she questioned if each year the City would have
additional costs? Economic Development Director Gabriel said the
agenda report was correct and indicated this was to complete the
conversion process.
Councilmember Bennett recalled that at budget session there was
discussion about profit from this sale earmarked for the general
fund. She inquired if it wouldn't make sense to put the money back
into the project. Councilmember Sandoval remarked that the
original note was due December 1. Attorney Brooks London explained
that there were two separate issues: The original note which is
due December 1st and the funds, which can be discussed at a later
date.
CONSENT CALENDAR
(1) Minutes
Approval
file in
(2) Warrants
Approval
through
of Regular Meeting held November 1, 1994, on
Office of City Clerk.
of Nos. 200742 through 200849; Nos. 200850
200970; Nos. 149381 through 149387; Nos. 149378
2
X10 V 15 1994
