California Cities' Resolution on Sales Tax Redistribution to
Increase the Amount Received by Cities to 2%.
Motion by Councilmember Sandoval, seconded by Councilmember
Bennett, to accept and adopt the proposed resolution with the
modification stating the City's opposition too any further
reallocation of city revenues to the State. Unanimous vote.
RESOLUTION NO. R-96-95 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF COLTON SUPPORTING THE
LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES'
RESOLUTION ON SALES TAX
REDISTRIBUTION TO INCREASE THE
AMOUNT RECEIVED BY CITIES TO 2%.
* Mayor Fulp submitted Resolution R-97-95, Opposing the
Misleading "Rental Assistance" Initiative for Council's
consideration and action. Councilmember Sandoval requested
the matter be continued until City Council receives text on
this document. Councilmember Beltran seconded the motion to
table the resolution. Unanimous vote.
AGENDA REVIEW•
Councilmember Hutton asked that Agenda Item No. 7 be continued
until Council meets with the consultant, in closed session, on the
management study to discuss Item 7 and how it coincides with their
study. Councilmember Sandoval seconded the request as there is a
scheduled date between the consultant and Council. After
discussion, City Manager Martinez said the consultant would attend
as requested; however, the consultant was expected to come forward
with Final Report on the first Council Meeting in November.
Councilmember Hutton said he wanted to speak to the consultant at
an earlier meeting before Final Report is submitted. Human
Resources Director Harmon informed the consultant was expected to
meet with the Utilities Commission. City Attorney Biggs stated
that, for clarification, the topic of consideration to reactivate
a position is not proper for closed session as it is a policy
decision. Notwithstanding the motion, Mayor Fulp declared the item
would be pulled from the Consent Calendar for discussion.
Councilmember Sanders requested that Agenda Items 2, 4 and 14 be
pulled for discussion. Councilmember Bennett requested that Item
1 be pulled for corrections and Item 8 be pulled for discussion.
Mayor Fulp declared that Item 16 would be pulled for discussion.
Z•lE-1DIZ9JK14A
(1) PULLED FOR DISCUSSION.
(2) PULLED FOR DISCUSSION.
2
SEP 1 9 1995
