I Zonina Variance
Richard and Florence Swinnerton, 5109 Central Avenue, Riverside, owners of
business property in Colton since 1960, requested a parking variance. Their business
at that location was served by a 17 -foot parking area on the street in front of the
building. There is no land to put a parking lot as the freeway off -ramp traversed the
property. In a recent attempt to sell the property, the purchaser, a motorcycle shop,
was refused a business permit because there was no off-street parking. The matter
was referred to the City Manager and Community Development Director Zamora, for
written report and recommendation, for a Council meeting in January, to include
options on whether to maintain restrictions, grant the variance or sale to a public
agency.
Fiesta Village
Mr. Steve Anderson, Colton resident, commented on dark and boarded -up condition
of Fiesta Village.
Taormina Coml2any
Mr. Steve Anderson commented on the alleged breach by the City of its Contract with
Taormina Company.
CONSENT CALENDAR:
(1) Minutes
Motion/Second by CM Sanders/Bennett for Approval of Regular Meeting
Minutes of November 19, 1996, on condition that there be a review of
Page 8, to include any action corrections to the reported vote on Fulp v.
City Clerk; Young v.
