R-14-97 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON, AFFRUWNG SUPPORT OF THE SOUTHERN <br />CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS <br />GENERAL ASSEMBLY RELATING TO THE RECOVERY <br />OF FUNDS BY CITIES OF MONIES TAKEN BY THE <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA OVER THE PAST FIVE YEARS <br />City Attorney Biggs stated Council's adoption of Resolution No. R-13-97 declared the City's position <br />in support of an initiative petition to repeal San Bernardino County Assessment District 95-1. The <br />City has prepared and made available an initiative and procedural steps for any citizen group that <br />might want to use them, to circulate within that assessment district, to seek repeal of the assessment <br />district. <br />Councilmember Hutton commented that Resolution No. R-13-97 would also support the re -design of <br />the channel type. <br />Councilmember Bennett stated this Resolution would also be asking to remove Colton because the <br />City does not have direct benefit from this project. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL STUDY/INFORMATION SESSION: <br />Third Annual California GIS Conference <br />Councilmember Bennett announced the Third Annual California GIS Conference to be held February <br />27 & 28, 1997. <br />City Council's Vision, Mission, Goals and Objectives <br />Councilmember Sanders presented this item for discussion and deferred to the other Councilmembers <br />until the correct copy of his goals and objectives was made available for detailed study and then <br />proceed line by line on the items listed. <br />Mayor Pro -Tem Cook commented that she did not have the opportunity to review everyone's Mission <br />Statement, Goals and Objectives which were received just prior to tonight's meeting, and she felt that <br />more time was needed to review each person's personal statement but at a glance each said about the <br />same thing, which appears to show that everyone is in agreement as to what the Mission and Goals are <br />for the City. <br />2 <br />
