PERSONNEL DEVELOPMENT/STAFF <br />• Support Innovation and Change in Organization <br />• Policy and Procedures Implemented City-wide <br />• City Management <br />MORAL ACCOUNTABILITY/RESPONSIBILITY <br />• Leadership By Example <br />DEVELOPMENT <br />• City-wide <br />• West End <br />• County Hospital <br />LEGISLATION <br />• Legislative Analyst <br />• Work with other Governments <br />INFRASTRUCTURE <br />• Safe Streets <br />• Storm Drains <br />• Utilities <br />IDENTITY <br />• Motto, Slogan, etc. <br />The following is City Staff input: <br />FINANCIAL STABILITY <br />• Follow procedures and the governmental processes to the letter <br />Councilmember Bennett reminded Council that the Discover Colton Group has similar goals as <br />discussed this evening and that after the business of setting our goals and objectives are completed that <br />Council support the Discover Colton Group and use this vehicle which is already in place to help move <br />forward our goals and objectives. <br />Mayor Gaytan suggested the following timeline: Staff will compile the information presented tonight; <br />give each Councilmember a grid; at the Council Meeting of March 18, 1997 each Councilmember can <br />plug in on this grid where they feel the proposed topics fit; Council can adopt the topics and continue <br />to work the objectives; and at the second Council Meeting in April a finished product can be adopted. <br />Mayor Gaytan invited comments regarding a Mission Statement. <br />Councilmember Bennett volunteered to participate on the committee in putting a Mission Statement <br />together as the three statements submitted by fellow Councilmembers are similar in thought but she <br />believed there was a need to develop one statement which is to the point and can be put on a card so <br />4 <br />
