Real Property Negotiator regarding negotiations in the matter of the Dr. West Property, on <br />Tropicana, in La Loma Hills. <br />City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session pursuant <br />to Government Code Section 54956.9(b), to confer with Legal Counsel regarding three <br />matters of potential exposure to litigation. <br />At 6:30 P. M., Mayor Gaytan recessed the meeting to Closed Session. At 8:08 P. M., the <br />general meeting was reconvened with all Members present as heretofore. <br />City Attorney Biggs reported that the City Council did meet in Closed Session but did not <br />confer with its Labor Negotiator, Gracie Fernandez Harmon, regarding negotiations with <br />representatives of the Fire, Police Rank and File and Police Management Bargaining Unit. <br />City Attorney Biggs reported that the City Council did meet in Closed Session, pursuant to <br />Government Code Section 54956.9(b), to confer with Legal Counsel regarding the following <br />matters of pending litigation Franco vs. ON of Colton and NAHB vs. Babbitt, with no <br />reportable action taken. <br />City Attorney Biggs reported that the City Council did meet in Closed Session, pursuant to <br />Government Code Section 54956.8, to confer with its Real Property Negotiator, Mayor <br />Gaytan, regarding negotiations in the matter of the Dr. West Property, at Tropicana, in La <br />Loma Hills, with no reportable action taken. <br />City Attorney Biggs reported that the City Council did meet in Closed Session, pursuant to <br />Government Code Section 54956.9(b), to confer with legal counsel regarding three matters of <br />potential exposure to litigation. She stated that with regard to one of those matters, it was <br />determined that the Special Council Meeting that began last night (June 16, 1997) and had <br />been adjourned to June 30`h will, instead, be held on Thursday, June 19,` 1997, at 4:30 P. M., <br />and that a special notice of that meeting would be given. With regard to other matters, City <br />Attorney Biggs announced that there was no reportable action taken. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: <br />Presentations, Awards Proclamations <br />CM Bennett praised the reconstruction work done to the Police Department's lobby, by the <br />Police Department Citizens Volunteer Group, at no cost to the City. She presented <br />certificates to Floyd Mitchell, John Mitchell, Gregg Berth, Richard Franco, Nan Franco and to <br />the Police Department Volunteers for the funding provided. CM Bennett also recognized <br />Terry Quiroz and Mr. Triano. <br />CM Cook spoke about the "Learn Not to Burn Program" and praised Fire Safety Specialist <br />Kathie Saindon for her grant award for this program.
