SPECIAL COUNCIL METING JULY 21, 1997 A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held at 4:52 p.m., on the above - given date in the Council Chambers of City Hall, located at 650 North La Cadens Drive, Colton, California, Mayor Gaytan presiding. Notice of Special Meeting was given on July 16, 1997, in compliance with Government Code Section 54956. FLAG SALUTE: Councilmember Sanders led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. ROLL CALL: Councilmembers present were Sandoval, Bennett, Cook, Chastain, Sanders, and Mayor Gaytan. Also present were Acting City Manager Harmon, City Attorney Biggs, and City Clerk Barrera. Councilmember Hutton absent. CLOSED SESSION: City Attorney Biggs announced the City Council would meet in Closed Session, to confer with its Labor Negotiator, Gracie Fernandez Harmon, regarding negotiations with Police Rank and File and Police Management bargaining units pursuant to Government Code 54957.6. City Attorney Biggs announced the City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant to Government Code §54957, with respect to Public Employee Appointment: Appointment of Interim City Manager. At 4:54 p.m., Mayor Gaytan declared the meeting adjourned to Closed Session and at 5:54 p.m., meeting reconvened with all Members present as heretofore. City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council did meet in Closed Session as previously stated and declared there was no reportable action taken on Item A. City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council did meet in Closed Session as to Item B and declared that authorization was given to staff to enter into a contract with Len Wood for Interim City Manager.
