CM Bennett commented on the success of Share a Child's Dream Conference, hosted by the <br />Childcare Division. Speaker Christopher Nance offered to assist with a fundraiser for this <br />program through the sale of his science books. <br />• CM Hutton requested that the City Attorney draft a resolution of support for state legislators <br />to amend the Governor's bill to eliminate the state vehicle registration fees that go to cities. <br />• CM Sanders reported on the second town hall meeting in District 1: Formation of Ad Hoc <br />Committee for Storm drain projects 3-3 and 3-5; streets surrounding the medical center; <br />Police Department presentation; Fire Department presentation; and questionnaire regarding <br />term limit and the open market and deregulation issues. The request for formation of an Ad <br />Hoc Committee was referred to the City Manager. <br />AGENDA REVIEW: City Manager. <br />Agenda Item No. 4 pulled and deferred to staff, to return at a later meeting, subsequent to input <br />from the department heads. <br />MOTION/VOTE, Motion by CM Hutton, seconded by CM Cook, to approve the Consent <br />Calendar, except for Item No. 4 which was deferred to a later time, carried with no opposition. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />(2) Minutes - Approved Minutes for the Regular Meeting held, May 5, 1998, on file in the <br />Office of the City Clerk. <br />(3) Warrants - Approval of Payroll Warrants #185656 to #186000, dated 5/5/98, totaling <br />$413,683.84, as on File in the Finance Department. <br />(4) Claim - PULLED AND DEFERRED TO STAFF: Consider Claims against the City <br />submitted by Warren Washington, George Lee Walker and Nitaya Puenthong. <br />Recommend Denial. <br />(5) Fire - Approved and adopted resolution to donate one surplus fire engine to the San <br />Bernardino Community College District, RESOLUTION NO. R-38-98. <br />(6) Permit - Approved the use of Fleming Park by Christian Door Fellowship, for a drama <br />presentation, from 4-10 P. M., on May 23, 1998, and by Praise Chapel Christian <br />Fellowship, for a drama presentation, from 6-9 P. M., on May 30, 1998. <br />(7) PERS - Approved and adopted Resolution to PERS to determine industrial disability <br />retirement for Police Officer Victor Paul, RESOLUTION NO. R-39-98. <br />(8) Personne - Approved and adopted Resolution appointing specific representatives to the <br />Independent Cities Risk Management Authority (ICRMA), RESOLUTION NO.
