Cemetery Commissioner Margaret Hemminger addressed Council. Assistant City Manager <br />Parrish informed that on the RFP evaluation process, a team was being created to include three <br />Staff members and two Cemetery Commission Members. <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Bennett/Sanders to authorize the release of the <br />Request for Proposals to manage, operate, maintain, develop, and sell internment rights and <br />cemetery merchandise at the Hermosa Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Motion carried with no <br />opposition from Council. Member Grimsby was absent. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />CLOSED SESSION: <br />City Attorney Carvalho read the Closed Session announced that the City Council would meet in <br />Closed Session to discuss the following items: <br />A. CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATOR <br />Pursuant to Government Code Section 54957.6 <br />Agency Negotiator: Dennis Morris <br />Employee Organization: IBEW <br />B. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - ANTICIPATED LITIGATION <br />Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(b) <br />Number of Potential Cases: Two <br />RECESS: <br />At 10: 12 P. M., Mayor Gaytan declared the meeting adjourned to Closed Session and at 11:02 P. <br />M., the meeting was reconvened with all Members present except for CM Grimsby. <br />CLOSED SESSION (Continued) <br />Mayor Gaytan reported that the City Council did meet in Closed Session and called upon Utility <br />Director Clarke to address one of the matters of anticipated litigation: Utility Director Clarke <br />requested permission to expend the funds to obtain the source code documentation from Dave <br />Roupe and then enter into a contract with the City of Azusa to upgrade the software for the utility <br />billing system. MOTION/VOTE: Motion by CM Sanders to accept and approve Staff's <br />recommendation with the proviso that Dave Roupe's contract be terminated. Utility Director <br />Clarke indicated the services contract would be terminated but that there were provisions in the <br />contract to do some bridge work to make sure the existing system would function properly, but <br />his use would be minimized. Motion carried upon consensus of Council.
