M., in the Council Chambers of City <br />Hall, with Mayor Pro Tempore Bennett, presiding. <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />Councilmember Donald J. Sanders led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />INVOCATION <br />Chaplain Joe Savala led the invocation. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />PRESENT <br />CM James B. Grimsby <br />CM Donald J. Sanders <br />ABSENT <br />Mayor Betty L. Cook <br />STAFF PRESENT <br />City Manager Garcia <br />ANNOUNCEMENT: <br />CM Kelly J. Chastain <br />CM Richard A. DeLaRosa <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Deirdre H. Bennett <br />City Clerk Barrera <br />City Attorney Carvalho <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Bennett said that Mayor -elect Betty Cook was ill and unable to attend <br />tonight's meeting but she assured that she would be present at Council's next meeting. Mayor <br />Pro Ternpore Bennett announced that, earlier today, the City Clerk had administered the oath of <br />office to Mayor Betty Cook. <br />CITY CLERK'S ITEM: <br />CANVASS OF ELECTION: <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Sanders/DeLaRosa to approve and adopt a resolution <br />reciting the fact of the general municipal election held on November 7, 2000, declaring the result <br />City Council Mins Dec 5, 2000 1 <br />
