MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Chastain/DeLaRosa to waive full reading and pass <br />Second Reading of ORDINANCE NO. 0-04-00, amending various sections of Ordinance No. 0- <br />20-96 and Ordinance No. 0-17-93 of Title 14 relating to regulation of stormwater discharges, <br />carried upon unanimous vote. <br />AGENDA REVIEW: <br />A time -sensitive item, raised after the posting of the Agenda, was presented for addition to the <br />Agenda: Request from Christian Center Academy for use of Fleming Park and the band shell, on <br />June 14, 2000, for graduation ceremony. The Parks and Recreation/Family Services Department <br />indicated that date was available. If approved, announcements will be printed this week. <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Sanders/Cook to add the item to the Consent Calendar <br />as Item No. 16A carried upon Unanimous vote. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Steven Anderson commented on Item D of the Closed Session Item and submitted a handout. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: <br />Information Session and Action Items: <br />COMMENTS: <br />Comments, Inter -Governmental Agency reports, <br />District 3 - CM Chastain reported on the pavement of streets in the district and thanked Public <br />Works Department. She announced a Town Hall meeting on Thursday, May 4'. <br />District 5 - Along with CM Cook, CM Grimsby reported having met with Senator Soto who <br />asked that the City's project list be narrowed to one or two items. He asked that Staff be directed <br />to provide information to Senator Soto, this week, for submission to the Senate for approval and <br />funding. He thanked Public Works for the work on Agua Mansa Road. <br />District 4 - CM Cook announced May 4" as National Day of Prayer and the Cinco de Mayo <br />Celebrations on May 6`s at Fleming Park and May 7's at Veterans Park. She commented on the <br />closing celebration at Frontier Town. She invited everyone to the Historic Preservation <br />Commission/City Council workshops set for May 6 at the Carnegie Public Library. She <br />announced an awards luncheon, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, honoring the Citizen of the <br />Year, namely, a peace officer from the Police Department and a firefighter from the Fire <br />Department, would be held at the Colton Women's Club on May 17, 2000. She stated that the <br />Giant RV Grand opening would be held May 11'x. She reported on the East Valley Coalition <br />meeting covering issues such as transportation, truck lanes on Foothill Freeway and sound walls. <br />District 5 - Mayor Pro Tempore Bennett directed the City Manager to coordinate a City Council <br />Meeting with the school district to discuss items such as safe routes for schools and Lincoln <br />School's suggestions.
