ORDINANCE: <br />Second Reading, Department Heads, At Will Employment <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Sanders/DeLaRosa to waive full reading and pass <br />second reading of ORDINANCE NO. 0-07-01, adding Section 2.48.140 to the Colton Municipal <br />Code relating to exceptions to the Civil Service System. Motion carried unanimously. <br />PUBLIC HEARING: <br />This is the time and place fixed to consider ordering the levy and collection of assessments within <br />the Landscape and Lighting Maintenance District No. 1 (LLMD No. 1) <br />Mayor declared the Public Hearing "Open." <br />City Clerk declared that the Affidavit of Publication was on file and reported that no protests or <br />objections were received. <br />Parks and Recreation and Family Services Director Ron Kenny reported there was no increase to <br />the levy for FY 2001/02 and mentioned the scope of work performed and maintained. <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/second by CM Sanders/Chastain to terminate the Public Hearing <br />carried upon unanimous vote. <br />Discussion followed about LLMD in District 1 specifically the area north of Golden Spike <br />regarding theft and vandalism of plants, water pressure, a booster pump for $3,000 to $5,000, <br />equitable spread of cost to tract(s), sufficient manpower, LLMD specific areas and future <br />development and districts. <br />MOTION/VOTE: Motion/Second by CM Chastain/DeLaRosa to approve and adopt <br />RESOLUTION NO. R-50-01, amending and/or approving the annual Engineer's Report for the <br />Colton Landscape and Lighting Maintenance Assessment District No. 1, Fiscal Year 2001/2001 <br />and RESOLUTION NO. R-51-01, ordering the levy and collection of assessments for the Colton <br />Landscape and Lighting Maintenance Assessment District No. 1, Fiscal Year 2000/2002. Motion <br />carried upon unanimous vote. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: <br />The following -named citizen addressed the City Council: Jimmy Babacos. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: Comments, Inter -Governmental Agency reports, <br />Information Session and Action Items: <br />Member Comments: <br />The following topics were addressed by the Members: Town hall meetings, street resurfacing <br />projects in District 1, Staff directed to contact Chief Auto Parts management to maintain area; <br />City Council Mins June 19, 2001 2 <br />
