CUA 2001-1. Unanimous vote. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: <br />The following citizens addressed the City Council: Jean Ferrante, Marco Tovar, Jimmy <br />Babacos, and Charles Jackson. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: <br />Mayor Bennett expressed condolences to the family of Whitney Rogers who was involved in the <br />fatal pedestrian/auto collision on Friday, November 9, 2001. <br />Member Comments: <br />The following topics were also addressed by the Members: Veterans Day Parade and Program, <br />Christmas Parade, Mill Street Beautification, McKinley School Park and Playground equipment, <br />Luque Center Thanksgiving Dinner and Request for donations, Commission vacancies, recent <br />Legislature sessions regarding Bio -Terrorism, Grand opening of Janet's Fashions, Holiday <br />Home decorating contest, Code of Ethics update. <br />BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS: <br />Appointments — Pursuant to MC§ Section 2.30.030 — Manner of Appointment. <br />None. <br />INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: <br />League of California Cities Leadership Team Workshop - City Council/City Manager, January <br />16-18, 2001, at Lake Arrowhead (UCLA Conference Center) <br />City Manager Parrish informed the Council that staff was in the process of researching for a <br />possible in-house workshop with a target date for the early part of 2002. The subject matter <br />would be similar to what the League of California Cities will be presenting at Lake Arrowhead <br />and if Council was in agreement there would be no need to any member to attend. <br />
