CM Chastain and Police Chief Heusterberg presented Certificates of Recognition to the 16 <br />Police Explorers who participated in the Police Academy. <br />Proclamation - Public Power Week <br />CM Hernandez presented Utility Director Tom Clarke a Proclamation in recognition of the 16th <br />Annual Public Power Week from October 6th though October 12, 2002. <br />Proclamation - Fire Prevention Week <br />CM DeLaRosa presented Fire Chief Tom Hendrix a Proclamation in recognition of Fire <br />Prevention Week, October 6th though October 12, 2002. <br />D Proclamation - National Breast Cancer Awareness Month <br />CM Zamora presented a Proclamation in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness <br />Month and National Mammography Day. The Proclamation will be mailed to the United States <br />Conference of Mayors in Washington, D.C. <br />ORDINANCES: <br />FIRST READINGS: <br />(1) Waived Full Reading and Passed First Reading of Ordinance Adopting by Reference <br />and Making certain Amendments to the 2001 Edition of the California Building Standards <br />Code, which Incorporates the California Building Code, the California Mechanical Code, <br />the California Plumbing Code, and the California Electrical Code, and Adopting other <br />Model Codes; Waived Full Reading and Passed First Reading of an Ordinance Adopting <br />by Reference and Making Certain Amendments to the 2001 Edition of the California Fire <br />Code, ORDINANCE NO(S). 0-13-02 and 0-14-02. <br />City Attorney Dean Derleth presented an overview of Ordinance No(s). 0-13-02 and 0- <br />14-02 and requested approval of staff's recommendation. <br />Motion/second by CM Ramos/CM Hernandez to approve and adopt Ordinance No(s). 0- <br />13-02 and 0-14-02 and schedule a Public Hearing for October 15, 2002.
