<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE
<br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE
<br />CITY OF COLTON, AMEN
<br />DING ORDINANCE NOS.
<br />1080 and 1231, AND
<br />CHAPTER 3.08 OF THE
<br />COLTON MUNICIPAL
<br />CODE, PROVIDING FOR A
<br />PURCHASING AND SALES
<br />SYSTEM.
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
<br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
<br />OF COLTON AS FOLLOWS.
<br />SECTION 1. The first
<br />paragraph of Section 9 of Or
<br />dinance No. 1231 and Section
<br />3.08.090 of the Colton Municipal
<br />Code, are hereby amended to
<br />read as follows:
<br />FORMAL CONTRACT PRO
<br />CEDURE - GENERALLY. Pur
<br />chasing of supplies, services
<br />and equipment of estimated
<br />value greater than five thou-
<br />sand dollars ($5000) shall be by
<br />written contract with the lowest
<br />and best bidder pursuant to the
<br />procedures and requirements
<br />prescribed in Sections 3.08.100
<br />through 3.08.250.
<br />SECTION 2. The first
<br />paragraph of Section 10 or Or
<br />dinance No. 1080 and Section
<br />3.08.260 fo the Colton Municipal
<br />Code, are hereby amended to
<br />read as follows:
<br />OPEN MARKET PUR
<br />CHASES PROCEDURE
<br />GENERALLY. Purchases of
<br />supplies, equipment, contrac-
<br />tual services and sales of per
<br />sonal property of an estimated
<br />value in the amount of five
<br />thousand dollars ($5000.00) or
<br />less may be made by the pur-
<br />chasing agent in the open
<br />market without observing the
<br />procedure prescribed by Sec
<br />tions 3.08.090 through 3.08.250.
<br />SECTION 3. This ordinance
<br />supercedes the provisions of Or-
<br />dinance No. 1584,
<br />SECTION 4. This ordinance
<br />shall be published and become
<br />effective as perscribed by law.
