This Ordinance is enacted under the author- <br />ity of Government Code Section 365O3.5(a). <br />SECTION 2. The general municipal election of the City <br />of Colton shall be held on the same day as the statewide general <br />election, namely, on the first Tuesday after the first Monday of <br />November in each even numbered year. <br />SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall apply to general muni- <br />cipal elections held in 1986 and subsequent years, provided, how- <br />ever that nothing in this Ordinance shall limit or otherwise ef- <br />fect the authority of the City Council to change the day of the <br />general municipal election in the manner permitted by Government <br />Code Section 36503.5 or any other relevant statute. <br />SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall become operative upon <br />the approval of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors. <br />SECTION 5. The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the <br />City Clerk shall cause the same to be published within fifteen <br />(15) days after its passage at least once in the Colton Courier, <br />a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of <br />Colton. <br />PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 7th day of May, 1985. <br />
