The portions <br />�f said resolution in conflict herewith are repealed. <br />There is hereby added to the Municipal Code of Colton <br />Phapter 5.07, which is to read as follows: <br />Section 5.07.010 Definitions. <br />The following words and <br />phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings set <br />forth in this section: <br />A. Driver shall mean every person in charge of or operat- <br />Cng any taxicab, either as agent, employee or otherwise, under the <br />direction of the owner or as owner. <br />B. Owner shall mean every person having use or control of <br />any taxicab, whether as owner, lessee or otherwise. <br />C. Taxicab shall mean every automobile or motor propelled <br />vehicle for hire used for the transportation of passengers over the <br />public streets of the city and not over a defined route, irrespec- <br />tive of whether the operations extend beyond the boundary limits of <br />the City, and such vehicle is routed as to destination under the <br />direction of a passenger or of a person hiring the same. <br />Section 5.07.020 Owner's permit generally. <br />A. It shall be unlawful to operate any taxicab business in <br />the City unless the owner therof shall apply for and obtain a permit) <br />to do so, which permit shall be applied for, granted and be in <br />
