2.48.050 Exceptions from civil service provisions <br />designated. The provisions of Sections 2.48.010 through <br />2.48.180 shall apply to all official positions and employ- <br />ments in the service of the city except: <br />A. Elective officers; <br />B. Members of appointive boards, commissions and com- <br />mittees; <br />C. Persons engaged under contract to supply expert, <br />technical or professional services for a definite period <br />of time; <br />D. Volunteer personnel, such as volunteer firemen and <br />police reserves, who receive no regular compensation from <br />the city. <br />E. The positions of city manager, director of community <br />services, director of finance, director of personnel, and <br />director of planning and special services; <br />F.
