1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 0-19-91 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF COLTON RESTRICTING <br />EXPANSION OF REFUSE COLLECTION <br />SERVICES WITHIN THE CITY <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton provides refuse collection, <br />removal and disposal services to certain residents and businesses <br />within the City; and <br />WHEREAS, other residences and businesses within the City are <br />provided refuse disposal by independent contractors authorized to <br />provide such service within the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has determined that protection of the <br />public's health, safety and welfare necessitates that existing <br />service areas served by the independent contractors be maintained <br />without expansion so as not to threaten the viability of the City's <br />existing refuse collection services. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Colton hereby ordains as follows: <br />SECTION ONE <br />No person authorized by the City to collect, remove or dispose <br />of refuse within the City pursuant to Municipal Code Chapter 6.16 <br />shall perform such service for any customer to which that service <br />was not provided as of the date of this ordinance. A service <br />change under this ordinance shall not be deemed to have occurred <br />due to the change in ownership or occupancy of a location to which <br />SCD74389 <br />- 1 - <br />
