1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 0-2-91 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON CITY COUNCIL <br />TO CREATE A MITIGATION PROGRAM FOR THE SEISMIC <br />RETROFITTING OF UNREINFORCED MASONRY BUILDINGS. <br />WHEREAS, State Bill SB 547, passed in 1986, requires local <br />governments prepare a seismic hazard building survey and the <br />adoption of a seismic hazard mitigation program; and <br />WHEREAS, the Community Development Department has <br />coordinated the preparation of the survey and seismic hazard <br />mitigation report; and <br />WHEREAS, the Community Development Department has organized <br />public meetings with owners of unreinforced masonry buildings to <br />discuss the mitigation report. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the City Council of the <br />City of Colton does hereby require the partial retrofitting of <br />unreinforced masonry buildings through the use of anchor bolts, <br />with the application of the standards specified in the attached <br />Appendix A and the following time schedule: <br />I. Any certificate of occupancy applications for the <br />occupancy of space in an unreinforced masonry building <br />(URM) shall be required to reinforce the building prior <br />to the issuance of the certificate. <br />2. Any building permit application on an unreinforced <br />masonry building shall be required to reinforce the <br />building prior to the issuance of the permit. <br />3. All other unreinforced masonry buildings shall be <br />required to be reinforced within five (5) years from the <br />date of adoption of the program. <br />APPROVED and ADOPTED this 12th day of March ,19 91 <br />ATTEST: <br />vt��a W4-'7'4� <br />HELEN A.
