Safe and sane fireworks as defined by Section 12529 of the Health and Safety Code of the State of California may be sold and discharged within the City of Colton during the period beginning at noon on the twenty-eighth day of June ending at midnight on the fifth day of July each year pursuant to the provisions of this chapter and not otherwise. (Ord. 1493 S2(1), 1976). 6.32.015 Definitions. For the purpose of this chapter, unless otherwise apparent from the context, certain words and phrases used in this chapter are defined as follows: A. "Youth Group" means a private organization organized for the purpose of participating in organized sports or civic activities consisting of at least 20 individual members whose maximum age does not exceed 18 years of age which receives no public funding. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Colton Unified School District constitutes a single Youth Group for purposes of this Chapter. B. "Civic/Service Organization" means a state certified non- profit organization organized primarily for charitable purposes. C. "Church" means a state certified tax exempt religious organization. D. "Based in Colton" means primarily operating within the City limits of Colton and comprised of and for the benefit of residents of the City of Colton.
