SECTION EIGHT It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert, or demolish equip, use, occupy or maintain any building or structure in the City, or cause the same to be done, contrary to, or in violation of, any of the provisions of the codes. Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of the code is guilty of a misdemeanor. Each and every day, or portion thereof, during which any such violation is committed, continued, or permitted, is a separate offense. Any such violation shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $1,000.00, or by imprisonment of not more than one hundred and twenty (120) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION NINE The Director of Community Development is designated as the "Building official" as described in the codes and shall authorize to exercise all powers and responsibilities of that position. SECTION TEN Permits may be issued to: (A) Persons holding a valid license issued by State of California State Contractor's License Board, related to the speciality of the work being performed; or (B) Persons providing bona fide proof of ownership of the property and building for which the permit is being issued or their authorized representative. SECTION ELEVEN One complete copy of these said Rules and Regulations, which regulate the erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving, removal, conversion, demolition, occupancy, equipment use, height area, and maintenance of building or structures and the installation and maintenance of heating, ventilating, refrigeration, and related systems in the City of Colton shall be - 6 -
