1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8' <br />9' <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 0-31-92 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON AMENDING SECTION 18.50.170 OF THE <br />COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE. <br />WHEREAS, Section 18.15.170 of the City's Municipal Code, <br />pertaining to the Enforcement and Abatement of Signs, Subsection <br />E.1., states that before an illegal sign may be abated by the <br />City, notice of the City's intention to remove the sign shall be <br />mailed to the owner of the sign at least ten days before the date <br />of removal; and <br />WHEREAS, at the time the Zoning Ordinance was revised, the <br />ten day noticing period was intended for illegal signs on private <br />property and was not intended to be applicable to the removal of <br />illegal signs in City right-of-way areas and/or public property. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the <br />City of Colton that the following statement be inserted at the <br />end of Subsection E.1. of Section 18.50.170 of the Colton <br />Municipal Code: <br />"The noticing period shall only be applicable <br />to illegal signs placed on private property. <br />Illegal signs placed on City right-of-way areas <br />and/or public property shall be declared a pub- <br />lic nuisance upon inspection and may be abated <br />instantaneously upon the same inspection." <br />PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 5th day of January, 1993. <br />ATTEST: <br />HELEN A.
