1 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 0-14-97 <br />2 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />3 COLTON AMENDING SECTION 10.04.130 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL <br />4 CODE RELATING TO SPEED LIMITS ON CITY STREETS <br />5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: <br />6 SECTION 1: Section 10.04.130 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby amended to read in <br />7 its entirety as follows: <br />8 "Section 16.1 of Article XV adopted - <br />9 Speed limits designated. <br />10 <br />11 There is adopted a section to be numbered Section 16.a. Article XV. <br />12 Section 16.a. Increasing State Speed Limit in Certain Zones. It is hereby determined <br />13 upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that the speed limit permitted by <br />14 State Law upon the following streets is less than is necessary for safe operation of vehicles <br />15 thereon by reason of the designation and sign -posting of said streets as through highways <br />16 and (or) by reason of widely spaced intersections and it is hereby declared that the prima <br />17 facie speed limit shall be as hereinafter set forth on those streets or parts of streets herein <br />18 designated when signs are erected giving notice thereof: <br />19 Section 16A: The following Speed Limits are designated: <br />1. Agua Mansa Road 45 MPH <br />20 from Riverside Avenue to Rancho Avenue <br />21 2. Barton Road <br />from Hilltop Drive to Washington Street 50 MPH <br />22 3. "C" Street <br />23 from Meridian Avenue to Colton Avenue 35 MPH <br />4. Colton Avenue <br />24 from "E" Street to North City Limits 40 MPH <br />25 5. Cooley Drive <br />from Cooley Lane to Washington Street 40 MPH <br />26 <br />6. Cooley Drive <br />27 from Mt. Vernon to Cooley Lane 40 MPH <br />28 <br />1 <br />
