1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 0-13-99 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA ADDING CHAPTER 18.45 <br />RELATING TO WIND ENERGY CONVERSION <br />SYSTEMS (WECS) <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1: Chapter 18.45 shall be added to the Colton Municipal Code to <br />read as follows: <br />"WIND ENERGY CONVERSION SYSTEMS (WECS)" <br />Chapter 18.45 <br />18.45.010 Purpose and Intent. <br />The purpose of this ordinance is to regulate the placement and operation of Wind <br />Energy Conversion Systems (WECS) through the Conditional Use Permit process to <br />ensure they are operated safely and with minimal impacts on surrounding properties. <br />A Conditional Use Permit for a WECS is intended to regulate and provide for the <br />installation of WECS which are made feasible by prevailing winds within certain areas <br />of the City. The conditions of the permit are meant to ensure that a safe and <br />beneficial environment, for both the WECS development and the adjacent properties, <br />is provided. <br />18.45.020 Applicability. <br />WECS are permitted in the following zone classifications only when a Conditional <br />Use Permit is granted pursuant to this Section: <br />• M-1 (Light Industrial) <br />• M-2 (Heavy Industrial) <br />18.45.030 Application. <br />Every application for a Conditional Use Permit shall be made in writing to the <br />Planning Commission on the forms provided by the Community Development <br />Department and shall be accompanied by the filing fee established by City Council <br />resolution.
