VERNON CORRIDOR <br />REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency for the City of Colton (the "Agency") has <br />formulated, prepared and approved the Redevelopment Plan for the Mt. Vernon Corridor <br />Redevelopment Project. (the "Redevelopment Plan"); and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Colton (the "City Council'), <br />approved and adopted the Redevelopment Plan pursuant to a duly enacted Ordinance on June <br />30, 1987; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 33333.6 of the California Health and Safety Code ("Community <br />Redevelopment Law") has established certain limitations on incurring and repaying of <br />indebtedness and the duration of redevelopment plans, which apply to every redevelopment <br />plan adopted on or before December 31, 1993; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton previously adopted Ordinance No. 0-27-94 on <br />December 20, 1994 to comply with certain time limitations for redevelopment plans pursuant to <br />Section 33333.6; and <br />WHEREAS, recent amendments to Section 33333.6 provides that redevelopment plans, <br />adopted prior to January 1, 1994 and which have limitations shorter than the terms provided for <br />in Section 33333.6, may be amended by a legislative body by the adoption of an Ordinance on <br />or after January 1, 1999, but on or before December 31, 1999, provided that the plan as so <br />amended does not exceed the terms provided for in Section 33333.6; and <br />WHEREAS, in adopting such an Ordinance, neither the legislative body or the Agency <br />is required to comply with California Health and Safety Code Section 33354.6 or Article 12 <br />
