I Chapter 9.22 <br />2 TOBACCO SALES RESTRICTIONS <br />3 Sections: <br />4 9.22.010 Purpose and intent. <br />9.22.020 Definitions. <br />5 9.22.030 Sale and distribution of tobacco products. <br />6 9.22.040 Identification required for purchase of tobacco products. <br />7 9.22.050 Posting of signs regarding sales to minors. <br />9.22.060 Unpackaged tobacco products. <br />8 9.22.070 Tobacco vending machines prohibited <br />9 9.22.080 Time for compliance. <br />10 9.22.090 Enforcement. <br />11 <br />12 9.22.010 Purpose and intent. <br />13 <br />The purpose and intent of this chapter is to discourage actions that promote the <br />14 unlawful sale of tobacco products to minors, as well as the unlawful purchase or <br />15 possession of tobacco products by minors. <br />16 <br />9.22.020 Definitions. <br />17 <br />18 Unless otherwise indicated, the following definitions shall apply to all provisions of <br />19 this chapter: <br />20 (a) Business means any sole proprietorship, joint venture, corporation or other <br />21 business entity formed for profit making purposes, including retail establishments where <br />22 goods or services are sold, as well as professional corporations and other entities where <br />legal, medical, dental, engineering, architectural or other professional services are <br />23 delivered. <br />24 <br />25 (b) Minor means any individual who is less than eighteen (18) years old. <br />26 (c) Retail tobacco store means a retail store utilized primarily for the sale of <br />27 tobacco products and accessories and in which at least eighty percent (80%) of the square <br />28 footage of the available retail floor and shelf space is devoted to the sale of tobacco-related <br />products and accessories. <br />R V PU BU R\499 <br />
