18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 ORDINANCE NO. 0-17-02 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA AMENDING TITLE 5, CHAPTER 5.44 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO OUTDOOR FESTIVALS AND SPECIAL EVENTS. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton wishes to allow festivals, concerts, sporting events, parades, and other special events within the City limits in order to promote civic and cultural pride and community involvement; and WHEREAS, the use of City streets and other City -owned or controlled property, including parks, by large groups causes wear and tear on the turf, park equipment, and facilities, and requires City staff time to provide coordination; and WHEREAS, such special events have a tendency of exposing neighboring residents to excessive noise and traffic; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to ensure that such special events are conducted in a safe and orderly fashion to benefit all those who live in and visit the City of Colton by requiring that such events follow uniform licensing procedures; and WHEREAS, uniform procedures promote and protect the rights of those organizing special events, those participating in them, and those living and working nearby; THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Title 5, Chapter 5.44 of the Colton Municipal Code is repealed in its entirety and replaced with the following: "CHAPTER 5.44: SPECIAL EVENTS 5.44.010 Intent and Purpose. 5.44.020 Definitions. 5.44.030 Special Events Committee Established. 5.44.040 Permit Required. 5.44.050 Permit Application - Filing and Fee. 5.44.060 Permit Application - Required Information. 5.44.070 Permit Issuance or Denial. 5.44.080 Permit Conditions. 5.44.090 Business License Required. 5.44.100 Medical Operations Permit Required.
