1 ORDINANCE NO. 0-20-03 2 3 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING SECTION 10.04.130 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL 4 CODE RELATING TO SPEED LIMITS ON CITY STREETS 5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: 6 SECTION 1: Section 10.04.130 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby amended to 7 read in its entirety as follows: 8 Section 16.1 of Article XV adopted - Speed limits designated. 9 There is adopted a section to be numbered Section 16.a. Article XV. 10 Section 16.a. Increasing State Speed Limit in Certain Zones. It is hereby determined upon 11 the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that the speed limit permitted by State Law upon the following streets is less than is necessary for safe operation of vehicles 12 thereon by reason of the designation and sign -posting of said streets as through highways and or) by reason of widely spaced intersections and it is hereby declared that the prima - 13 facie speed limit shall be as hereinafter set forth on those streets or parts of streets herein designated when signs are erected giving notice thereof: 14 15 Section 16A: The following Speed Limits are designated: 16 1. Agua Mansa Road 45 MPH from Riverside Avenue to Rancho Avenue 17 2. Barton Road 50 MPH 18 from Hilltop Drive to Washington Street 19 3. C' Street 30 MPH 20 from Meridian Avenue to Colton Avenue 21 4. Colton Avenue 40 MPH from E" Street to North City Limits 22 5. Cooley Drive 40 MPH 23 from Cooley Lane to Washington Street 24 6. Cooley Drive 40 MPH 25 from Mt. Vernon to Cooley Lane 26 7. Eucalyptus Avenue 30 MPH from San Bernardino Avenue to Randall Avenue 27 28 8. Fairway Drive 35 MPH from Mt Vernon to Auto Plaza Drive 9. Hunts Lane 45 MPH from Washington to Redlands Blvd.
