R-110-86 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING REGULATIONS FOR CANDIDATES FOR ELEC- TIVE OFFICE, PERTAINING TO MATERIALS SUBMITTED TO THE ELECTORATE AND THE COSTS OF THE CANDIDATES'STATEMENT FOR THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE CITY ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 1986 WHEREAS, Section 10012 of the Elections Code of. the State of California provides that the governing body of any local agency 7 adopt regulations pertaining to materials prepared by any candi- $ ate for a municipal election, including costs of the candidates' 9 statement; 10 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, 11 HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: 12 �OES Section 1. GENERAL PROVISIONS. That pursuant to Section 13 10012 of the Elections Code of the State of. California, each 14 candidate for elective office to be voted for at the General Mun- 15 icipal Election to be held in the City of Colton on November 4, 16 1986, may prepare a candidate's statement on an appropriate form 17 provided by the City Clerk. Such statement may include the name, 18 age and occupation of the candidate and a brief description of no 19 more than two hundred (200) words of the candidate's education 20 and qualifications expressed by the candidate himself or herself. 21 Such statement shall not include party affiliation of the candi- 22 date, nor membership or activity in partisan political organiza- 23 tions. Such statement shall be filed in the office of the City 24 Clerk at the time the candidate's nomination papers are filed. 25 Such statement may be withdrawn, but not changed, during the 26 period for filing nomination papers and until 5:00 p.m. of the 27 next working day after the close of the nomination period. 28
