R-33-87 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />LIMITING THE PERSONS AFFORDED BENEFITS UNDER <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4598 <br />WHEREAS, Resolution No. 4598 entitled A Resolution of <br />the City Council of the City of Colton to Provide Health and <br />Optical Insurance to covered Employees and Officials was adopted <br />May 7, 1985; and <br />WHEREAS, said resolution provided that certain City <br />employees and City officials be provided with health insurance <br />and related benefits after retirement: and <br />WHEREAS, the benefits of Resolution No. 4598 are vested <br />as to current affected City employees and City officials and <br />certain former employees and officials no longer in City service; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City that <br />the benefits afforded by Resolution No. 4598 not be granted to <br />future employees, current employees who may be promoted, or <br />future officials not serving the City as of January 1, 1987. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton <br />resolves as follows: <br />(1) The benefits of Resolution No. 4598 shall not be <br />afforded to the following: <br />Persons who are first elected or appointed to the position <br />of Mayor, Member of the City Council, City Clerk, City Treasurer, <br />or City Attorney after January 1, 1987. <br />1 <br />
