RESOLUTION NO. R-71-87
<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br />COLTON AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING THIS CITY'S
<br />ADMITTANCE TO MEMBERSHIP WITH CERTAIN OTHER CITIES
<br />IN THE INDEPENDENT CITIES RISK MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
<br />WHEREAS, the law of this State authorizes municipalities
<br />to jointly exercise the power to manage and provide for their
<br />common risks; and
<br />WHEREAS, the Independent Cities Risk Management Authority
<br />is composed of the Cities of Alhambra, Arcadia, Azusa, Baldwin
<br />Park, Bell, Culver City, Downey, E1 Monte, Gardena, Glendora,
<br />Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Huntington Park, Indio, Inglewood,
<br />Lynwood, Manhattan Beach, Monterey Park, Redondo Beach, San
<br />Fernando, South Gate, Vernon, West Covina and Whittier,
<br />California; and
<br />WHEREAS, this City supports the purposes of the
<br />Independent Cities Risk Management Authority and wishes to
<br />join as a member of the Independent Cities Risk Management
<br />Authority and the Independent Cities Risk Management
<br />Authority's Liability Risk Management Committee.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton
<br />does resolve as follows:
<br />1. That the City of Colton does hereby approve and agree
<br />to abide by all of the terms and conditions of the
<br />Independent Cities Risk Management Authority's Joint
<br />Exercise Of Powers Agreement For Insurance And Risk
<br />Management Purposes and the By -Laws of the separate Risk
<br />Management Committees which this City participates in.
<br />2. That the City of Colton does hereby join with the
<br />Cities of Alhambra, Arcadia, Azusa, Baldwin Park, Bell,
<br />Culver City, Downey, El Monte, Gardena, Glendora,
<br />Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Huntington Park, Indio,
<br />Inglewood, Lynwood, Manhattan Beach, Monterey Park,
<br />Redondo Beach, San Fernando, South Gate, Vernon, West
<br />Covina, and Whittier, California as well as the City of
<br />Monrovia which has applied to join as a member of the
<br />Independent Cities Risk Management Authority and the
<br />Independent Cities Risk Management Authority's Liability
<br />Risk Management Committee.
