R-93-87 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON, CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING THE CREATION OF <br />AN ASSOCIATION OF WASTEWATER AGENCIES KNOWN AS <br />THE SANTA ANA RIVER DISCHARGERS ASSOCIATION <br />WHEREAS the Santa Ana Regional Water Quality Control <br />Board (RWQCB) is currently in the process of conducting hearings <br />on the Basin Plan Update; and <br />WHEREAS each agency which is a wastewater discharger <br />within the RWQCB boundaries is significantly impacted by all <br />elements contained within the Basin Plan including beneficial <br />uses, objectives, tertiary treatment, ammonia and nitrogen <br />removal, and wasteload allocations; and <br />WHEREAS the Council is responsible for the management <br />and operation of the City of Colton Wastewater Treatment Plant; <br />F, Me <br />WHEREAS several of the wastewater agencies along the <br />Santa Ana River have expressed a desire and willingness to meet, <br />develop and collectively present concerns shared by more than <br />one individual agency to the RWQCB; and <br />WHEREAS the entire basin will benefit from a balanced <br />perspective in establishing objectives and other criteria within <br />the Basin Plan; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of <br />the City of Colton that they support, endorse and encourage all <br />aastewat_er agencies to participate in the newly -formed association <br />Df wastewater agencies known as the Santa Ana River Dischargers <br />%ssociation. <br />
