EXHIBIT "A" <br />INVESTMENT POLICY <br />OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />The City of Colton (the "City") has a fiduciary responsibility to <br />maximize the productive use of assets entrusted to its care and to <br />invest and manage them wisely and prudently. The City shall pursue <br />broad spectrum of investment opportunities that are prudent and <br />allowable under current legislation of the State of California and <br />City ordinances. <br />The City contemplates certain changes in the California Government <br />Code relating to investment activities effective January 1, 1989, <br />and wishes to promptly address these changes with the adoption of <br />this interim investment policy until a complete review can be made <br />of the preferred types of investments available to the City in the <br />current market place. <br />The City shall be aware of the social and political impacts of its <br />investments, and act responsibly in making its financial decisions. <br />The City shall not knowingly make any investments in any institution, <br />company, corporation, subsidiary or affiliate that practices or <br />supports directly or indirectly discrimination on the basis of race, <br />religion, color, creed, national or ethnic origin, age, sex, sexual <br />preference, or physical disability. <br />The City shall strive to make investments that benefit the local area, <br />that are consistent with municipal plans and policies, and that promote <br />community economic development. <br />The City shall strive to maintain the level of investment of all idle <br />funds as near one hundred percent (1000) as possible, through daily <br />and projected cash flow determinations.
