R- 13-88 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DECLARING WEEDS GROWING UPON THE STREETS OR SIDEWALKS OR UPON PRIVATE PROPERTY AND RUBBISH, REFUSE OR DIRT UPON PARKWAYS, SIDEWALKS OR PRIVATE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF COLTON TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND PROVIDING FOR THE ABATEMENT THEREFOR IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTIONS 39501, 39561, 39561.5, 39562, 39563, 39567.1, ALSO 39568-39586, CHAPTER 13, ARTICLE 3, TITLE 4, DIVISION 3 OF THE GOVERNMENT CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton has been informed that there are growing upon the streets and sidewalks and private property within said City many weeds which have seeds of a wingy or downy nature or have attained such growth as to be- come a fire menace or which are otherwise noxious or dangerous and there is also existing on certain parkways, sidewalks and property within the City certain rubbish, refuse and dirt includ- ing dry grass, stubble, brush, litter or other flammable material which endangers the public safety by creating a fire hazard; and WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that same should be declared a public nuisance and should be abated in ac- cordance with provisions of the Weed Abatement Law (Chapter 13, Title 4, Division 3, Government Code and amendments thereto) of the State of California; and WHEREAS, the Street Superintendent has prepared a report properly describing the property upon which the condition exists. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Colton as follows: 1.
