R-19-88 <br />A RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION <br />BY THE CITY OF COLTON <br />REQUESTING THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION TO <br />TAKE PROCEEDINGS FOR THE <br />ANNEXATION OF ANNEXATION SOUTH 44 <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Colton that <br />WHEREAS,the City of Colton desires to initiate proceedings <br />pursuant to the Cortese -Knox Local Government Reorganization Act <br />of 1935, Division 3 commencing with Section 56000 of the <br />California Government Code. for the annexation of territory: and <br />WHEREim)S. the territor,, proposed to be annexed is inhabited and a <br />desr_riotion of the boundaries of the territory is set forth in <br />E:•,hibtt "A" attached hereto and by this reference incorporated <br />herein; and <br />WHEREAS, this proposal is consistent with the sphere of influence <br />of the affected city and/or district(s); and <br />WHEREAS, it is desired to provide that the proposed annexation be <br />subject to the following terms and conditions: <br />All conditions to be determined by LAFCO <br />WHEREAS, the reasons for this proposed annexation are as follows: <br />The City will benefit from the annexation by <br />1) directing uniform, controlled development within its <br />Sphere of Influence <br />2) providing the City with new developable <br />industrial/commercial land to meet future demand <br />3) creating new employment opportunity and new revenue <br />sources for the City <br />4) achieving economies of scale in the provision of municipal <br />services throughout the City <br />
