SPANISH LANGUAGE. The City Clerk shall have <br />translated and printed in the voters pamphlet only the candidates <br />statements of those candidates who request translation and <br />rinting. <br />SECTION 3. ADDITIONAL MATERIALS. No candidate will be per- <br />itted to include additional materials in the sample ballot pack- <br />ge. <br />SECTION 4. PAYMENT. The City Clerk shall estimate the <br />otal cost of printing, handling, translating, and mailing the <br />andidate's statements filed pursuant to the Elections Code, and <br />equire each candidate filing a statement to pay in advance his <br />r her pro rata share as a condition of having his or her state- <br />ent included in the voter's pamphlet. The City Clerk shall bill <br />ach candidate for any cost in excess of the deposit and shall <br />efund within 30 days of the election any unused portion of the <br />eposit. <br />SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall provide each candi- <br />ate or the candidate's representative a copy of this Resolution <br />t the time nominating petitions are issued. <br />SECTION 6. That all previous resolutions establishing <br />council policy on payment for candidates statements are repealed. <br />SECTION 7. That this resolution shall apply only to the <br />election to be held on November 8, 1988 and shall then be repealed. <br />SECTION 8. That the City Clerk shall certify to the <br />passage and adoption of this Resolution and enter it into the <br />book of original Resolutions. <br />PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED the 5th day of July, 1988. <br />
