R-68-89 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON, CERTIFYING THE COUNTY OF SAN <br />BERNARDINO HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN, <br />IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE TANNER ACT <br />WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 2948 (Tanner Act, Chapter 1504, Statutes of <br />19861 authorizes counties to adopt, as an element of the General <br />Plan, a County Hazardous Waste Management Plan pursuant to <br />guidelines adopted by the State Department of Health Services <br />(herein after called State) and specifies procedures for the <br />preparation, revision, adoption, approval, and amendment of the <br />Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of San Bernardino Board of Supervisors <br />authorized, by Resolution, the preparation of the Hazardous Waste <br />Management Plan (herein after called Plan), and a Plan has been <br />prepared with the assistance of the County Hazardous Waste <br />Management Plan Advisory Committee and input from the cities, <br />local and regional agencies and the public; and <br />WHEREAS, the Plan includes comprehensive goals and policies for <br />the effective management of hazardous waste in the county, these <br />❑oafs include: <br />1. To protect the health and welfare of the public, <br />environment, and economy of San Bernardino County <br />through a comprehensive program that ensures safe and <br />responsible management of hazardous waste/material. <br />
