Section 34781 of the California Government Code will be completed no later than December 19, 1991; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to assure the citizens of the City of Colton of its intentions with regard to this matter. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS. 1. The City Council by this resolution refuses to place the initiative measure as proposed by the committee on the ballot or to hold a special election for the purpose of placing the initiative measure as proposed by the committee on the ballot for a vote of the people because the City Council finds the measure to be deficient pursuant to California Government Code Section 34872 in that it does not describe the boundaries of each proposed district or number them. 2. The City Council by this resolution announces its intention to place an ordinance substantially the same as that proposed by the Committee, together with properly drawn maps and numbered districts, meeting all the requirements of California Government Code Sections 34871 and 34872 on the ballot at the election which will be held pursuant to Section 2500 of the Elections Code on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in June of 1992. 3. The City Council further directs staff and the City Clerk to take all necessary action to assure that the intent and purpose of this Resolution is properly fu filled in a timely and efficient manner to assure the City Council is presented with an ordinance meeting all legal requirements of Section 34871 of the California Government Code so that this matter may be presented to the electorate at the election as specified above. that has been accepted and verified by the City Clerk RESOLVED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 3rdthe day of nth r , 1991.
